Bible Prophesy provides undeniable proof that the Bible is the Word of God. Unique among all books ever written, the Bible accurately foretells specific events-in detail-many years, sometimes centuries, before they occur. Approximately 2,500 prophecies (predictions) appear in the pages of the Bible, about 2,000 of which already have been fulfilled to the letter—no errors. The remaining 500 or so reach into the future and may be seen unfolding as days go by.
Hundreds of predictions were fulfilled in Old Testament times, but let’s look at just a few of the 300+ predictions fulfilled by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
Centuries before Jesus was born, it is written that He would be born in Bethlehem, He would be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver, which would be used to buy a potter’s field. Old Testament scriptures detail Christ would be buried with the rich and not a bone in His body would be broken, His side would be pierced, lots (bets) would be cast for his garments, and more. Perhaps the most remarkable prophesy regarding the coming of Christ is in the Book of Daniel (9:24-9:27), written more than 500-years before He was born. This specific scripture provides the EXACT day that JESUS would ride into Jerusalem on a donkey, being hailed as a king (Palm Sunday). Jesus fulfilled these prophesies exactly as foretold.
The mathematical probability of just eight prophesies being fulfilled accidentally during the life of one person is one in one hundred quadrillion. That is equal to the odds of filling the entire state of Texas with silver dollars, two feet deep, and a blind man picking out the one that had a red dot on it. The odds of one person accidentally fulfilling 300+ prophesies? No man, only God.
Still some atheists are so determined to deny the existence of God, they ignore the evidence.
